All I can say is that this implementation of x-realm servers...sucks. It takes away what an MMO is suppose to be a community of players playing together and getting to know each other. Now days, players don't even speak to each other or refuse to group together even when its beneficial to do so. The MMO genre went from an enclosed tight community into a community that doesn't exists, or better yet into a lobby game as players mostly sit around waiting for their dungeon, battleground, or raid queue to popup.
I can only hope that the next upcoming MMORPGs will focus more on the community and the actual game-play itself and not focus on trying to accumulate millions of subscribers. So far it appears that a few small time kickstarter developers are genuinely interested in creating the MMOs that used to be an art, rather than the MMOs that are now focused on commercialization. I can only hope that their efforts succeed, as I personally wish to see the MMORPG gaming community restored back to what they were.
