Another problem with this change is that it really distorts the economy. In the past (prior to the expansion) players already had a hard time trying to make money with crafting, now with this change, players will have nearly an impossible time trying to make money from crafting. The expansion re-shifts the demand vs supply curve and causes the demand for crafting gear to drop dramatically, while the supply for crafted gear for the most part will remain the same. Why? Mainly because the production capacity from crafters will be remain unchanged, even though some crafters will ultimately leave the market. But even with a few crafters leaving the market, the supply of goods will still be high causing prices of goods to drop even below costs. In fact, some players are producing goods and selling them to the NPCs.
If anything this new change to the crafting system does more harm than good, at least economically. Player have even less of a demand to purchase crafted gear since they can only use three pieces at a time. But at the same time players are now able to equip three of the best in slot gear from crafting. So if you're an end gamer constantly playing on a high level character, the changes may as well benefit you on a personal level, but on a monetary and alt level the changes are severely limited and damaging.
